Why we exist
For four decades we have been the voice of Puerto Rico’s animals: we educate, we protect, we drive programs with community impact, and we advance legislation so that proper care and humane treatment become a reality.

An island where humans honor and respect animals in peaceful coexistence.
Three fronts, one mission
Humane education
We train teachers, students and communities so that respect for animals is taught from an early age. It is the slowest front and the most lasting: a child who learns to recognize an animal’s suffering becomes an adult who will not tolerate it.
Community impact
We support our member organizations with grants and training that reach the communities where animals need us most. One organization does a lot; a network does more.
Systemic change
We monitor, demand and work on legislation so that the Government offers coherent solutions that comprehensively address every issue related to animals. A law that is not enforced protects no one; and for it to work, there must be a structure that responds.
How we defend them together
